Winning at Wirehive

Wirehive Success for Atelier

We’ve had what can only be described as a very busy and productive year. We were over the moon to round off 2017 with a successful night at the Wirehive Awards.

Atelier named as one of the Top 50 agencies within the Wirehive100. We also won ‘Not-For-Profit Site of the Year’ and were finalists in two other categories. These were ‘E-Commerce Site of the Year’ and ‘Agency Team of the Year’.

What are the Wirehive Awards?

The Wirehive Awards is a long standing and hugely respected event of our industry. They’re designed to recognise standout projects specifically from agencies based south of London. Agencies entered their best projects into a range of categories with the hope of walking away with an award.

Our Awards & Nominations

Not-For-Profit Site of the Year 2017 – My Trusty

Our winning entry was a not-for-profit website we built earlier in the year for My Trusty . My Trusty are a skincare brand born from NHS Salisbury. Their products are designed to help those with dry itchy skin, burns, eczema and other common skin conditions. The website’s primary purpose is for customers to go on and buy products. However, it is also effective in telling the My Trusty story and sharing key skincare tips and advice.

Produced on a tight budget, with return on investment in mind, the website was praised by judges for it’s slick and accomplished design. What’s more, there was good usage of parallax. Pitched up against other not-for-profit sites from key industry players such as Redweb and iFour, we were over the moon to be able to share the evening with attendees from My Trusty who joined us in accepting our award.

Linda Mace, Brand Manager for My Trusty, wrote a short testimonial on her experience during the website design and build:

“Right from the first initial discussions, the Atelier Team have treated My Trusty with the same passion, care and respect as if it were their own business.  Our customers love our new website.”

Ecommerce Site of the Year 2017 – Mayflower Theatre

Unfortunately not a winner this time around, but still a finalist, was our entry of the website for Mayflower Theatre. This was in the ‘Ecommerce Site of the Year’ category.

This website, created in partnership with Mayflower’s in house marketing and IT departments, represents the result of extensive customer research and user experience exercises. The key objectives were for the website to attract and engage a younger audience. We did this by making mobile browsing and booking much more enjoyable. There were also improvements to the overall booking process and website conversion rate.

Since launch, the website has achieved some substantial improvements (based on a comparison to the same period last year) including:

  • Revenue from transactions increasing by 45.50%
  • Number of transactions increasing by 38.78%

Agency Team of the Year 2017

And finally, a category which focuses on overall team effort. This is arguably one of the most competitive categories of the entire event. Although we didn’t walk away with the award, we were proud to have been nominated against some other incredibly talented agencies.

Wirehive100

Finally, as you would probably only know if you attended the event, the Wirehive awards always ends with a run through of the Wirehive100 league table. This is a list ranking agencies South of London in order, based on factors such as turnover.

In a recent company planning session, we outlined one of our key goals as being placed within the Top 50 within the next three years. On the night we were announced in position 46 – this has made every single one of our team members incredibly proud of how hard we have worked throughout this year and also even more excited about what the coming years have in store!

What’s next?

Having only dabbled with industry awards in the past, we made the decision at the beginning of the year to really shout about the projects we are working on, and it’s great to see our hard work being recognised.

Our new year’s resolution for 2018 is to dedicate that much needed time to shouting louder and more frequently about the work that we are doing (sometimes one of the hardest things to do when you spend all of your time finding new ways to make your client’s stand out!)
